Made in China/Feature -- Lao Wai/TV Project
Made in China is a documentary introducing one of the many, but comparatively few, foreigners living in the People's Republic of China.
In complete contrast with the Chinese, Nabil is a 6-foot, blonde haired, blue-eyed American. He is married to a Korean woman seven years his senior, they are raising three kids, and living in a cramped apartment in Beijing with his housekeeper and her daughter.
Already relatively well-known in China as a singer, songwriter, performer and actor, Nabil's newest single is being considered for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. If chosen, he will perform in front of a record number of sports fans. For the past ten years he has worked at the fame game part time struggling between his desire to support his family and his hunger for celebrity. He decided in 2007 to devote 100% of his energies to his dream. He dreads time is slipping away -- he will either break through or break down. This is the beginning of his story.
